Getting started with Ragsdale’s Conversation Emporium is simple. Here’s what to expect from your first inquiry to your first lesson and beyond.
Step 1 — Get in Touch
Start by filling out our contact form or reaching out via WeChat. Tell us a little about your student — their age, their current English level, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll be in touch to set up a free trial lesson.
Step 2 — Free Trial Lesson
Your student’s first lesson is complimentary. It’s a relaxed, one-on-one session with their instructor — a chance to get to know each other, explore your student’s interests, and get a feel for how we work together. We’ll do a short sample lesson so your student can experience our approach firsthand, no preparation needed. No pressure, no test. Just a real conversation.
Step 3 — Your Personalised Recommendation
After the trial, we’ll recommend one or two courses that are the right fit for your student’s level, goals, and interests. Every recommendation is made with your individual student in mind — and we’ll also share what else is available in our course catalog so your family can explore the full range of what the Emporium has to offer.
Step 4 — Lessons Your Way
Once enrolled, you choose the pace. Most students meet with their instructor once or twice a week — whatever works best for your schedule. Live classes take place via Zoom or VooV.
Step 5 — A Complete Learning Experience
Every lesson is part of a structured cycle. Before each live class, students complete readings and preparation activities through our student portal. After the class, short, meaningful homework activities reinforce what was covered, along with additional resources to keep the learning going between sessions. Instructor feedback is provided throughout.
